In addition, environmental testing is used to ascertain the reliability of your products. It will help you to minimise risk from warranty, insurance and damage claims by detecting design flaws in the development process. Climatic Testing
Intertek can simulate a wide range of worldwide climatic environments and conditions relating to transportation, storage and operational use. You can let your product travel from rainforest to desert, via the polar ice-cap in one day! Using state-of-the-art chambers, we provide testing for all terrestrial temperature, humidity and pressure extremes, cyclic tests and tests with temperature and vibration, salt-mist (fog) corrosion testing and full IP sealing testing for all categories of dust and water ingress. We will also include ATEX (Explosive Atmosphere) requirements.

Dynamic Testing
Our sophisticated vibration equipment can simulate the hostile environments experienced during transportation and end use. We can produce linear acceleration up to 2000 g, produce sinusoidal testing, random testing, and combinations thereof, to suit both military and civil applications. We also have facilities for shock, drop, bump and impact testing, and experience in testing for vandal resistance.

Accelerated Life Testing
Intertek’s Accelerated Life Testing regime offers a quick route to developing a rugged product that gives you confidence in the marketplace. This, combined with testing in extreme conditions, such as humidity or salt-mist, can be invaluable when determining a product’s true lifespan.

Outdoor Noise Directive
All equipment for outdoor use on the EU market needs to bear CE marking and have a label attached stating the Guaranteed Sound Power Level. Intertek is a Notified Body under the Noise Emission in the Environment by Equipment for Use Outdoors Directive and can help you to ensure that your products comply with the requirements.
