Sanitation Testing
Before your food service equipment can be sold in North America it must comply with applicable NSF sanitation standards which are recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). As an ANSI-accredited certification body, Intertek can test your product to the applicable standards.
The ETL Sanitation Mark
Once your product has met the applicable requirements, we will issue our proprietary ETL Sanitation Mark, allowing your product to be sold throughout North America. The ETL Sanitation Mark signifies that the product has been independently tested and that it complies with the minimum requirements of product sanitation standards. An ETL Sanitation mark indicates that equipment is fit for use in the production of food intended for human consumption or that the equipment is fit for use in an environment where food intended for human consumption is produced. In addition, the mark indicates that the manufacturer's production site conforms to a range of compliance measures, and is subject to a periodic regimen of follow-up inspections to verify continued conformance.
