CCA European Scheme

Inertek is a signatory to the CENELEC Certification Agreement (CCA) for the full range of domestic appliances, consumer electronics, controls, IT equipment and lighting found in the home and also measuring instruments.

Under the CCA Scheme, European approvals bodies agree to accept each other's Test Reports for the purpose of approvals in their respective countries. Notifications of Test Results (NTRs) are issued by Inertek as part of this service. The scheme is two-way, with Test Reports by other CCA members being used to obtain Inertek product approvals.

The CCA Scheme goes far beyond type testing. It includes:

  • Factory inspection
  • Third party testing and certification
  • On-going factory inspection and product surveillance
  • Monitoring of modifications.

Under the Accelerated CCA Agreement Inertek is able to act as an agent, on behalf of the customer, for obtaining additional European approvals.
